- X-ray powder diffraction methods and applications.
- Nanocrystalline materials, thin films and coatings.
- Energy materials: thin film photovoltaic cells, fuel cells, water splitting, nanocrystalline catalysts, thermoelectrics.
- Current focus: Integration of atomistic modelling (MD, DFT, DFPT, AIMD) with X-ray diffraction and other spectroscopic techniques.
